The Bingo game history has a very cute story to account for its popularity in the USA, it seems there was a toy salesman by the name of Edwin S Lowe who was traveling from New York to Jacksonville, Georgia. This happened in 1929 December. On the way, he found a carnival where a game called Beano was played. The game had people marking with beans the numbers that were called out by a master of the game. The people playing it were so enamored by the game that the carnival stall closed at 3 AM that day instead of its regular 11 PM.

Lowe took this game with him to New York and invited his friends to play the game. He experienced the same zest and excitement that he had seen at the carnival show, which convinced him that this game, was a great money-spinner. He had added a few slight variation to the game. However, he intended to have it named as the original Beano, until a girl in her joy that she won, called out bingo instead of Beano and ever since, this game has been known as bingo!

Lowe had engaged a Mathematics Professor from Columbia University to compute 6000 Bingo cards for him, with number combination that do not repeat so there could less multiple winners. The Mathematics Professor lost his sanity after this project
